Global Banquet

This is a dessert that my family has enjoyed every Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It came up from the States with us so we've had it for as long as I can remember,
but unfortunately I don't know its origin. We've always called it Heavenly Hash
but I've seen variations of it called Ambrosia. Enjoy. :)

~You will need a deep narrow, glass or metal bowl, chilled, and
an electric mixer with the beaters chilled [or hand whisk]~

2 cups [500 ml] whipping creme [liquid not canned!]
icing sugar
1 cup [250 ml] cubed pineapple, fresh or canned [pre-chilled and drained if canned]
1 1/2 cups [375 ml] miniature marshmallows
2 or 3 ripe bananas [not over-ripe!], cut up
1 small can mandarin orange slices, pre-chilled and drained [optional]
1/2 cup [125 ml] chopped nuts, walnut, pecan or almond [optional]

In chilled bowl, whip creme until it forms soft peaks.
Gently fold in icing sugar to desired sweetness.
Add in pineapple, marshmallows, bananas, orange slices and
nuts, mix gently. Serve immediately.

Serves 6 - 8
